Hell Time on the Trail

Its one of those things that never gets old. Rain, hail or shine, pissed sober or high, its a fucking hell time!
Somewhere in Newcastle this little road runs in and out of the suburbs. Originally built as a safer option to get from A to B, bike riders and those who like to take a walk every so often, use the track daily. As a community it is our job to make the town a safe and happy place, and as the youth of today, it is our job to ……………do what we are told? yeah right! let me run you through it.

You make a few phone calls and organise everyone to meet at the bottom of the trail, pile everyone into one or two cars, and make your way to the top. Without fail the music is up full ball, there is people hanging out of the windows, two dudes getting rolled around in the boot and 6 out of 8 people in the car trying to get that classic instagram photo. If its your turn to be the driver, your probably hoping you dont get pulled over because more than likely, that will also end up on the internet, along with an empty wallet.
The trail is about 10 kms long and takes roughly 10 minutes to get from top to bottom. What happens in between is something you cant explain. You had to be there! Lets cut a long story short shall we?
Its like a 10 minute stampede, the roar of 10-20 skateboards is enough to rattle your grandmothers bones and shake the nappies off children, as you fang by. You get the occasional Tough Dad chasing after you or Mum flipping you the bird……..Good times.
Whether your coasting next to your buddy, holding hands with your girl or cruising down the hill, away from the pack, you get that feeling where you think to yourself, Damn life is good! You reach the bottom, everyones laughing, someones taken bark off, stories are being swapped and half of the gang are in the cars ready to take it back to the top.
Another run, another hang, another day with the stampede gang!
