Martin Luther King Jr. spearheaded a non-violent civil rights movement in the 60s with a message of racial equality. The photos featured where taken by photographer Paul Schutzer who followed a group of young students inspired by MLKs message, over  a two week period as they traveled across state to form the Freedom Riders. Along the way their numbers diminished in the face of arrest, mob beatings and even fire-bombings...
