Dawn meets high noon, and high noon wanders along and embraces sunset, and so the many illuminated faces of the desert flicker and shift and come to life. Long lost feathers, fallen from a passing eagle, the Thunderbird, it is said, is capable of creating storms and thundering while it flies, pulling the clouds together with the flapping of it’s wings, the desert rose and the bull skull – all re-occurring imagery in our Alter Ego’s wildest dreams.
Being from the widely eclectic place that is Byron Bay, we feel blessed to call this place home and support the fellow labels around us. One of the biggest brands on the rise are the girls from Spell & The Gypsy who have just released their forthcoming Summer lookbook. Featuring California chartreuse Kelley Ash (famous for her Wild At Heart blog) in front of the lens, the shoot was completed at a dusty town on the skirts of the Los Angeles desert by Graham Dunn on vintage 8mm film.
