Drawing inspiration from generations of landscape and nature photographers before him, Mathew Brandt takes his photography into a direction that is visually stunning and stylistically diverse. The reason for nature being at the crux of his work Brandt says that, “what makes nature such a compelling subject is that it’s truly inexhaustible.” The 32 – year-old Los Angeles – will be presenting his most recent exhibit, sticky/dusty/wet at Los Angeles’ own Museum of Contemporary art next month. Brandt explores the water of lakes and reservoirs he photographed to produce liquid hallucinations wrapped in psychedelic tones of violet and acid yellow. If you find your self in the LA area this is not to be missed!
