Panos Cosmatos' 'Beyond The Black Rainbow' stands as one of the more spellbinding, unnerving sci-fi masterpieces in recent years - an even lower budget, even more indie, even weirder companion piece to Jonathan Glazer's equally exceptional 'Under The Skin'.
Although the film was released in 2010, only now has the film's score, by Black Mountain man Jeremy Schmidt under the name Sinoia Caves, seen a release. Given time and space from the unveiling of the film serves to expose the score as more than just an accompaniment to the film and a neat piece of work in it's own right - an eerie, totally paranoid, faintly retro suite of haunting, instrumental synthscapes works seamlessly with the film but very nicely without.
Just go easy on the green taking a toke of this one.
