“Graffiti is not vandalism but a beautiful crime!”
André aka Monsieur A, is the French graffiti artist who quickly attained notoriety in the late 90s with his signature Mr. A tag; a cartoonish character with a top hat, a big smile, and long legs with a cross and circle for his eyes that could be found all over the streets of Paris. Thanks to his distinctive, joyful style and his use of pink colour, he became instantly recognisable around the world. André quickly expanding the definition of art as itself, while re-defining “what an artist can do”.
Recently André has been up to his old tricks plastering bill posters on major cities worldwide with his Dream Concert series featuring fictional lineups, venues and dates. Originally imagined as a poster dedicated to Serge Gainsbourg for a tribute concert that never ended up happening, he loved the idea so much and though it would be amazing to see all his favourite artists all in one line up, a Dream Concert.
