“Homemade skateboards first appeared as anonymous planks of wood. As the popularity of skateboarding grew, large scale manufacturers began to produce skateboards with their company logos on them. In the late 1970‘s, Wes Humpston’s Dogtown Cross broke the mold and transcended logos by making them works of art, using the entire board as a canvas. The skate graphic had officially arrived.“
